-1-First make a new folder as normal…
-2-Now click on ‘Rename’ but do not actually rename it.
-3-Now hold Alt and type 0160 (Note: Do not type these numbers from above the letters but use the numbers to the right side of the keyboard).
-4-Then press enter
The folder name should show nothing…
Now all you have to do is change the folder’s icon…
-5-Right Click>Properties>Customize>Change Icon
-6-Now scroll right a little bit until you find a column where there are gaps between them, click on those gaps and voila…your own invisible folder!…
If You’re having trouble doing it, what about watching it on a video.

it works on vista too. but how to delete it.
Delete it the same way you would normally delete a folder, all you have done is give it a plain white icon.
to delete it on vista I had to run cmd as admin, then do a dir /x to get the shortened identifier for the no name folder, then rename it to something, then I could delete it as you would a normal folder
doesn’t work, won’t let me name it alt0160
Another way to delete is, if you have winrar just add it to an archive and then when it asking what you want to do, there is a delete option.
I just used Unlocker to remove it on Vista.
Xam, you don’t have to rename it to alt 0160 ,you have to press alt, and then right 0160.
Gd luck.
If you have any question, ask me.
ok, i have an unnamed invisible folder. how do i open it???
Just store your damn porn on a usb drive… Jesus…
@Pauly: you just press on it.
On the invisble folder.
@Oliver: Some people have 100gigabytes of porn lol. to store it on a usb it’s a bit hard. Especially if you don’t want to pay for a 100 gig external hard drive
Cool! thanks for sharing!
Doesent work on laptops i guess, as they don’t have the numbers on the right, only the above.
Please reconsider your apparent objective–to teach porn, and probably child porn addicts, how to hide their dirt.
Everyone is free to do what they want, so if someone wants to hide their dirt, let them.
It will work on a Laptop as well. Hit the “NumLock” key (Sometimes just “Num”) and use the letters/symbols of the right side of the keyboard that have numbers written on them as well. Most laptop keyboards have this.
This is hilarious. Anyone looking at the desktop folder in tree mode in the windows explorer would see a blank named folder. I install internet on half a dozen computers a day and to someone who knows about computers, things like that stick out like a flashing icon.
Hidden is a property you can mark on the folder, then set windows to hide folders. Memorize your file location, then just type it in the address bar. Hide your shit in a programs file directory. Put it in an archive and put a password on it. Admit you look at porn just like many other people.
theres a couple other ways for that to work as well
“Please reconsider your apparent objective–to teach porn, and probably child porn addicts, how to hide their dirt.”
You’re the only one here who seems to be able to see a connection between privacy and child pornography. Do you lock your doors at night because your house is full of kiddie porn?
Crude but effective. If you really want to protect something. . .
1. Download the free programs 7zip (free version of winzip) and Androsa FileProtector
2. Use 7zip to add “files” to archive and set the security level to whatever you want. Can be VERY secure. You can also scramble the file name/extension.
3. Use Androsa FileProtector to further encrypt that file using a very long password. (about 24 characters) It will tell you how strong your password is while typing it in.
4. place it in a “invisible folder” as described above
5. right click on “invisible folder” click properties, and select “hidden”
Restults: hiddin, invisible, scrambled name/extention, and double or tripple password protected. Try those shoes on for size!!!
Can anyone give me a step-by-step on how to delete this folder?

Ryan Pierce, just select the folder and delete it lol
Ha, good one. I tried that and it didn’t work.
Yes it does work Ryan. Just make sure you selected the folder, it’s a bit hard since you can’t see what you selected
I know how to delete a folder. This one isn’t not working.
to delete in xp: left click on invisible folder, then right click and click on delete
not sure if it works for vista, but probably

Ryan Pierce,
Two very effective ways to get rid of it.
1. Put a big ass magnet to the side of your hard drive.
2. Turn off your monitor!
i have doen that thing yes it works bt , when i saved some ideos and pics in it the the folder becomes visible … so i wana knw hw wil it get invisible ?
Hmmm, well it shouldn’t happen. Maybe when changing the icon you didn’t click on apply.
Try it out and tell me if it works.
If not, please upload a screenshot, and I will help you out.
Thank You.
I couldn’t understand some parts of this article o make an invisible folder for hiding Stuff., but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
I have a vista laptop and i’m well aware of how to delete a folder. this one is not permitting me to do so. how do i get rid of it?
hmm, I have windows XP so I don’t really know how.
But try doing the opposite of what you did to make it invisible. And then delete it.
It should work.
TO DELETE:
in the start menu prompt, type
in the CMD window, type
in the CMD window, type
NOTE: do not type the
NOTE: ” ” is not a space, its “alt+0160″ the “” are INCLUDED.
Now you can delete it since it has a name.
thanx buddy great work….thank u very much
This technique has been around for ages people. Also there are much more effective ways of keeping the folder hidden than just making it not appear in windows explorer.
yeah got that done, but i can’t press alt 0160, or the num lock key as there is none on my toshiba laptop, so i just named it a full stop ”.” now i can store all my porn there,
i’m not ashamed of it either
amazing does work!! for all those not know Alt+0160
press Alt+(+ from Num.Lock)0160 its cool thnx for sharing
